A new version of the open source 3d software Blender has just been released. Version 2.57 might not sound like much but it is in fact a milestone. This version is the result of several years of development of the 2.5 series including completely rewritten source code, redesigned user interface and bunches of new features.
Adobe has build a museum. A virtual online museum of digital art called Adobe Museum of Digital Media (AMDM). The museum is an organic experience; the building has no doors or windows, the guide is a jellyfish and the exhibit seems to float in time and space.
The museum is certainly a nice initiative. Adobe’s position in the digital media software market makes it obvious for them to honour the digital media that’s been created with their own software. If this is just a marketing stunt or an actual tribute to digital art is unsaid – it’s probably both.
iStockphoto have just relaunched with a new design and more features. We’re not talking huge changes but small enhancements which will help you find the photos and illustrations you need faster.
The search function now let’s you turn different file types on and off in the current search which is very useful. Also a list of display settings can be changed showing e.g. number of downloads and author names in the list view.
